Calling all Mid-Michigan (Lansing area) Readers: Operation Backpack has started!!

Whether your ready or not, School is right around the corner for all of us living in Mid-Michigan! I came across a great campaign going on in the Lansing area called Operation Backpack! Now this would be very inexpensive for all of us "deal seekers"! Keep reading for all the details of this great campaign. Every kid going back to school should have a new backpack loaded with tons of school supplies!
Operation Backpack is a volunteer driven back-to-school effort Co-Chaired by Congressman Mike Rogers and Lupe Izzo benefiting the children served by St. Vincent Catholic Charities. STVCC is collaborating with Andy Provenzano, WILX-TV 10 and Two Men and a Truck in an effort to successfully reach our goal of 1,000 donated backpacks stuffed full of school supplies. Operation Backpack runs now through August 27th. The drive concludes with a back-to-school rally where the children will receive their backpacks and school supplies.

Better Basket Blog Hop~Blog For a Great Cause

Here is some information on the Hershey's Better Basket Blog Hop:
This Easter season Hershey is all about helping you to create Better Easter Baskets with their special limited edition Easter candies found at Walmart.
More importantly, Hershey wants to promote the idea of going good in our own communities. The Hershey Company is committed to making a difference in the communities where we live in, and has a heritage of giving back to the community.
Thanks to Hershey's and 20 different bloggers looking to blog for a good cause, baskets like the one above were created and given to charities of each bloggers choice to spread Hershey's ongoing message around: We are ALL working together to do good in and out of our own communities!
In addition to those 20 baskets donated to charity, Hershey's is also sponsoring a Better Basket Blog Hop where Hershey will donate $10 per blog post entry for the Children's Miracle Network, up to $5,000. Amazing.
I'm passing this Easter Basket onto the following fabulous bloggers...
*Amy over at Saving with Amy
*Kristie over at Kristie's Notes
*Carri over at Carri Ann DESIGNS
*Tiffany over at The Keeper at Home
*Denise over at Together We Save
If you want to be apart of the blog hop, here are the rules:
Copy and paste these rules to your blog post.
Create a blog post giving a virtual Easter Basket to another blogger – you can give as many Virtual Baskets as you want.
Link back to the person who gave you an Easter Basket.
Let each person you are giving a Virtual Easter Basket to know you have given them a Basket.
Leave your link at BetterBasket.info/BlogHop comment section. You can also find the official rules of this #betterbasket blog hop, and more information about Better Basket with Hershey’s there.
Hershey’s is donating $10 per each blog participating to the Better Basket Blog Hop to Children’s Miracle Network (up to total of $5,000 by blog posts written by April 4th, 2010).
Please note that only one blog post by each blog url will count towards the donation.
